Time to Focus on You

This is a big step and commitment to unravel patterns and beliefs that don’t serve you. Are you longing to discover new ways of thinking about yourself and people around you? Are you tired of being given the same advice by friends and family? What psychotherapy offers you is time - time to be seen and heard, time to unfold and unravel your story, time to reflect on why you define yourself the way that you do, and time to envision a better version of yourself.

We all have core wounds: not feeling good enough, believing you can’t fully trust or love, not feeling accepted, never feeling safe, or believing you have to do everything on your own. Through therapy, you get to grab the reigns on these limiting feelings and beliefs. And as you elevate in consciousness, you bring others up with you. I am always humbled to see how people who immerse themselves into their healing journey carry out that energy to other people in their world. Conversations with friends, family, and coworkers start to feel healthier. Boundaries start to feel clearer. Holding space for others begins to look different. Diving into the deep end of your healing is not an easy process and it is so worth it!

My Approach

I am trained in Hakomi. This is a Buddhist-based, somatic approach where you get to slow down and notice the images, sensations, and memories that arise as you are talking.  By doing that, we work on getting to the underlying story. This may be a recent or past experience that may have had a profound impact on how you define yourself and the world. Therapeutic touch is within my scope of practice and, with consent, I may use touch in sessions (i.e.- hand on shoulder or pressing down on your hand) to amplify the emotions that are connected to your physical experience.

I enjoy making therapy a collaborative process in which we work together to find your best self.  You may also be asked to draw, reenact, or write about certain aspects of your experience in order to gain greater perspective on a presenting issue. I’m also a big fan of emailing you books, articles, or videos that are relevant to your situation!

I also offer EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), Brainspotting, & Ketamine Assisted Therapy.
